The Desty family have been in boat building for four generations starting in 1919 with Rampart Boat Building Co building wooden boats up to 50ft. In the early 1980’s, Rampart merged with Victoria Yachts to design and build the range of Victoria Yachts and Shadow cruisers with all the manufacturing and mould tools being produced in house.

In 1992 Rob and John Desty decided to diversify into boat repairs and re locate to Hamble Point. Later they brought Neil into the business making him the fourth generation of time served boat builders.
